Bored Scientists Now Just Sticking Random Things Into Large Hadron Collider
The publicity campaign for the LHC is parallel to that of NASA and Artificial Intelligence. It's a sales pitch angled toward getting everyone all emotional about solving mysteries and exploring the universe, and like NASA nonsense, I suspect the real motives are much different.
"We" didn't go to the moon to "slip the surely bonds of earth and touch the face of god," NASA went there to plant mirrors for lasers to reflect off, so we could measure its distance precisely. For what reason? Who the hell knows, because they never even told us that much at the time, let alone what the purpose of doing so was--likely because spending a quarter of a TRILLION dollars to put some mirrors on the moon would likely have pissed off everyone in the nation--everyone who would also go along with anything that sounds like a sermon. These gay ass motivational speaker sermons are not there to conceal the truth rather than explain it.
I strongly suspect that several governments teaming up and investing billions of dollars are not doing so for some abstract feelgood bullshit, or to discover something that will render all those billions worthless just after discovery, but for a practical reason they're not telling anyone.
So, what is the real reason they're doing this? What is worth $5 billion and 10 years of work followed by another billion in upgrades and 2 more years of work? Are they still trying to "slip the bonds of earth and touch the face of god" or some shit? No, we've heard that one already, so I doubt it, and I'd really like to know, because whatever the truth is, it's likely a lot more interesting then their gay fucking sermons on pushing the bounds of science and exploring the universe. Everything people do scientifically pushes the bounds of science and explores the universe--but it's always done to gain a technological advantage, so fuck off with the motivational speaker pep talk, and tell us what the damn thing is for please.
My guess would be weapons, medicine, or communications.
Jayland Walker: Attempted Copkiller Died Like A Bitch
This is an attempted copkiller who deliberately shot his gun at a police officer, while fleeing a crime in a ski mask. The pictures and videos are all over the web showing the flash from the muzzle of his weapon.
There are protests all over the nation now because HE'S BLACK, and being black somehow now means you get to try to murder police without being killed.
There is no question that shooting him 60 times was an extreme injustice--60 shots wasn't nearly enough, and they should have just kept shooting the copkiller sonofabitch until there was nothing left to scrape off the ground.
I hope every officer on the scene sues the shit out of his stupid family as well.
Fuck the dead bitch Jayland Walker, he got exactly what he deserved, and fuck the Black Lynch Mob attacking the police because they think being black deserves immunity for copkillers.
Let it be a lesson to all other assholes out there who would attack our protectors. There are a lot more bullets left, and you will be killed fucking dead for it, as is right and proper.

"Honoring Our Past and Rededicating to Our Future
by Lawrence Kadish
July 4, 2022 at 5:00 am
Just several short years after grudgingly recognizing the United States, the British were not done with their former colony. In 1812, they sought to invade our nation at three points: from Canada; an amphibious assault from the Chesapeake, and an attack at New Orleans at the mouth of the Mississippi River that would block the crucial trade of goods arriving from our nation's interior.
It was an existential moment for the United States; while it would have been daunting for the British to reclaim its colonies, it could easily have robbed the United States of its future, especially at a time when our internal politics were as fractured and unforgiving as they are today.
As we celebrate our nation's birthday at a time of unprecedented domestic political divide and global threats, it is important to reflect on the words written by Francis Scott Key, a reluctant eyewitness to a seaborne British assault on Baltimore. He wrote his poem – soon to be our national anthem – at a time when the outcome to the War of 1812 was far from certain and our Capitol would be burned by troops under the command of British Major General Robert Ross.
Think of the faith that Key had in his nation when he wrote:
O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
The outcome could easily have been different.
This Fourth of July, there will be barbecues and fireworks. There will be rousing music and picnics in the park. But there also needs to be genuine reflection on the words penned at a time when America stood at the crossroads of its future. Those words reflect the true spirit of American democracy: a confidence in the ultimate victory of freedom in the face of tyranny. Across our nation, we will see a Fourth of July where this victory remains a profound schism on a broad range of issues -- but as nighttime fireworks start to celebrate America's birthday, those "bombs bursting in air" remain a shining beacon for oppressed people throughout the world. Let us honor our past and rededicate ourselves to an American future.

Karl Pilkington: Let's Torture A Moron!
Karl Pilkington might quite literally be the single dumbest sonofabitch who ever lived, and I would bet the house he couldn't build a toaster. Still, he's also one of the most interesting people ever, and I would choose his company over just about anyone's for a long list of reasons. At the top of that list is the fact he is really trying to understand, and that's the great redeemer (Jesus get out!)--someone who tries to understand gets most people's sympathy, because we've all been there. We've all been in that situation where we hope those smarter than us will not squash us like bugs because we don't understand--when we're really making an effort.
The cosmic irony about this, is that he actually does get it right sometimes, and dare I say it, he's often quite brilliant. Perhaps "often" is a bit generous, but I feel like celebrating when he hits the mark, because like us all, he's had a victory in a difficult situation.
You can keep your boring commercial sports and your futile political campaigns, I want to see Karl figure out the world!
Unfortunately for Karl, learning is painful--yet another thing he didn't know before he began his quest for truth, and put it on the air with his shows An Idiot Abroad, and The Ricky Gervais Show (Both of which are free on youtube), but that's just life, and Karls is a painful one.
As an avid fan, a huge supporter, and his biggest fan, I love torturing the shit out of Karl to help him in his quest to understand the world.
Won't you join us in torturing the shit out of this moron?

niggard (n.)
"mean or stingy person, miser," late 14c., nigard, nygard, nygart, also with a variant nigoun, nygun (c. 1300), a word of uncertain origin. The suffix suggests French origin (see -ard), but the root word is possibly from earlier nig "stingy" (c. 1300), which is perhaps from a Scandinavian source related to Old Norse *hniggw, related to hnøggr "stingy," from Proto-Germanic *khnauwjaz (source of Swedish njugg "close, careful," German genau "precise, exact"). Perhaps also related to Old English hneaw "stingy, niggardly," which did not survive in Middle English. A noun nig "niggardly person" is attested from c. 1300, but OED considers this unlikely to be the source of the longer word.
