Have you ever noticed this? It's pervasive in our society, but it's an easy thing to miss.
A stupid person can very easily look smart by simply asking a question that a smart person is unable to answer, and make the smart person look stupid, even if the reason is because the question is utterly fucking ridiculous.
It's a quick way to switch roles, when you're surrounded by people who can't tell the difference.
You look so much smarter asking unanswerable questions than fumbling an appropriate answer.
Give it a try sometime--find someone smarter than you, and with a lot of people watching, ask him to explain how he's not a rapist, and watch how he flounders and looks like an idiot trying to clear himself, while you walk away with the gold.
