Today, the State of New York appointed 100 year old sex therapist and Carrot Top impersonator Dr Ruth Westhymen, to the missionary position of Ambassador of Loneliness. No, I'm NOT kidding--I shit thee fucking negatively.
Apparently, isolation from lack of exposure to other people is the biggest problem the government can find with New York City.
With our country spiraling into cannibalism, the Middle East on fire, and the entire species about to take the plunge into World War III, it's a relief to know our government realizes New York City is such a lonely isolated place, and is so engaged and focused on 100 year old Jewish pussy.
That's not sarcasm, I actually really mean that. I became such a happier person when I realized that having done more than my part to fix the world, the rest is no longer my responsibility. I can laugh responsibly at the absurdities on my screen instead of worrying about them, because what's the point, why bother? Mark my words--evolution itself is evolving, and the process of natural selection means the only people left sane in the future will be the psychopaths.
Does that mean we shouldn't care? Well, of course we should--for a little while. Do your part--go out and spend a few years at least taking the big risks to make the world a better and safer place. That's what I did, so go and do likewise. Become a soldier or first responder, and do the real work. That's basic responsibility. Then after having met that important responsibility, then after doing so, absofuckinglutely!--become a total psychopath, don't give a shit at all, see all of it as just great entertainment in the Human Zoo, and just sit and laugh at how absurd the world is. That's the responsible way to be a psychopath. lol
Yep, being a psychopath has become the only way to stay sane.
I hate Maine.Honestly, it's like someone jammed everyone from Oklahoma full of steroids, stuck them in a copy machine, and set it on LSD mode.
Israel and the Philistines have been living in a mutual state of massacre for over 5,000 fuckin years. For some reason I can't explain, I feel like Maine is going to turn out to be the reason. I don't know why, but I just get this gut feeling that someday some physicist on a bender is going to discover something that transcends all comprehensible temporal barriers in the universe, which has to have something epically and supernaturally weird causing it, and anyone who has been to Bangor will agree that Stephen King is probably the most normal thing about that place.
When brothers in Maine turn queer and fuck, is it incest or homosexuality?--oh yeah, and do I give a shit?
Personally, I don't blame Ben & Jerry's, I blame The Log Lady. Fuck that funhouse mirror whore--she knows what she did.
I honestly can't fuckin believe I'm asking that question, but believe it or not, it's one of the major conflicts in the SAG strike going on nationwide right now. There are the other usual things, but this is actually one of the sticking points.
I can't think of a single thing that more sums up just how utterly fucking weird the world has gotten, than the fact we have a nationwide strike over the right to cast dead actors in movies without their consent.
It's admittedly a contrary viewpoint, but I've always found it reassuring when the world's on fire. There's no denying the devastation to so many people, but it also creates heroes. Combat makes comrades, and it fucks us up, but it also shapes us into better people if we survive it all.
I don't think most people give enough credit to calamity for all the good it does. It's too easy to see ONLY the tragic. Obviously we should morn the losses, and I'm not saying we shouldn't, I'm saying that shouldn't be the end of the thought process. We should also take enormous reassurance in the good that comes of it. Not once before September 11th, did I ever hear someone thank me for my service--not once. Since then, the Protector Class in our society has grown by leaps and bounds. The US boasts some 20 million veterans, and after war, they went on to protect our society in countless ways--enforcement, firefighters, medics, doctors--first responders of all sorts, and if I had my way, the government would double the G.I. Bill so they could take over the education system as well.
I think most people suffer from polarity--most choices we make in life are zero-sum choices, where we try to make everything in the universe a binary choice where one wins and the other loses. The real world isn't like that. In the real world, whatever our choice is, more happens after that--the world doesn't just vanish afterwards.
I think it's worth considering, because with the Middle East on fire again, the world is about to get a lot more interesting. There is no solving a problem that predates the fucking Bible and the Torah. Even more importantly though, because it has been going on for so long, most of what keeps the powers that be from going to war is based on what happens there, because war and peace are matters of cascading dependencies, and the war between Israel and Palestine has primacy with all the world powers. Fucking MOSES couldn't solve this problem, nor any other person or institution in the history of the human race since, and it's rearing it's head yet again, this time with greater brutal violence than I've ever seen in my lifetime, and there's every reason to expect this to turn into World War 3, for a very specific reason: Individual nations cannot get what they want individually, because the US has control--but if they all make a grab at the same time, the US will not be able to split its resources, and everyone else gets what they want. Islam wants Israel out of the Middle East, China wants Taiwan, Russia wants to escalate against Ukraine without retaliation from NATO. These are just the three big drivers, but there are countless other drivers with other nations all harmonizing and being coordinated at the same time.
The Great Lynchpin is the 5,000 year war. Once Islam and the US get involved, China will grab Taiwan and Russia will escalate against Ukraine, or attack NATO, and all the resources will be split in too many directions to fight them all.
It's time to get comfortable with the chaos in the world, and look at the bright side. We'll come through dead or deserving, combat will vastly expand the culture of heroes, and the Protector Class will grow large and powerful, which is exactly what our country needs--a sea change in the priority of Protection in our country.
The people who will save our country from the chaos, both internal and external, are not the savage hedonist perverts among the democrats, nor the exploiting slavers and bloated cigar sucking used car salesmen among the republicans, The ones who will save us will be the Protector Class, and those who run the government should be the best of the Protector Class--those with established careers making life and death decisions for large groups of people, because let's face it, the job of the President of the US IS to manage crises. If he's not doing that, he's not doing his job. RNC Incorporated, and the Democratic Services Corporation, cannot and will not PROTECT this country, because they are too busy seeing how much of it they can exploit to the benefit of their party, and they control who gets elected--they have taken YOUR vote away from you, and now it only counts toward one of these two candidates, because VOTERS DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER THE CHOICE OF WHO BECOMES PRESIDENT: THE CORPORATIONS HAVE THE CHOICE, WHILE THE VOTERS TAKE THE BLAME.
The bad news is that none of this careful attention to detail matters, because the corporations DO have control, and they're not going to let go of it, and the people aren't going to take it back, so it's really an exercise in futility even pointing all this out.
The good news is that wars produce protectors, and vastly improve the vitality of those who fight them, who in turn, contribute vastly the the vitality of society.
The point being, let's not get too down about a World War. There are good things that will come of it, and that's really the game we're all in--to make the best of what is possible. For that we need hope, and even in war, there is much to hope for.
If you don't believe me, just ask any soldier who has survived a war in one piece if they they would rather have been a civilian. You might get the odd "yes," but regardless of the trauma, most of us are a lot happier with who we became as a result.
No, I'm NOT kidding. See for yourself (you have to click the link and watch on youtube, because they're dicks). Apparently, they've also approached Caesar's Palace with demands for a ceasefire--according to the video.
Paul and I had an earlier conversation about how poverty affects raising children, and I think it's a really good point that poverty doesn't always doom kids, if they have loving and responsible parents.
What I find more interesting is the difference in blame between impoverished parents versus rich parents whose children get doomed.
With poverty, often what dooms parents is the poverty itself--and often not just the money. It's genuinely difficult and often impossible to lead a good and lawful life while you and the entire family are stressed and terrified out of your fuckin mind all the time, and that has an effect--and often it's undeserved.
Rich people, on the other hand, do NOT have that excuse to fall back on. With them it's much more blameworthy, because they have the resources to do it well and fuck it up anyway. That's not desperation, that's just disinterest and abdication.
It does my heart good to know that Sam Bankman Fried (a name too ironic to possibly be an accident), will be going to prison for the next hundred fuckin years, because he's a sneaky guilty dickhead and looks like the bastard child of Quinten Tarantino and a puckered asshole, and totally deserves it.
Left and Right have a pedigree going back millennia that has nothing specifically to do with politics, and is everything about the difference between the paradigms of Order and Chaos. The Corporate Congress deliberately creating misunderstanding of the words "liberal" and "conservative" is what is steering our country into the toilet.
Those with an accurate understanding of the history and pedigree of the words "Liberal" and "Conservative," know that they are not opposites, they are not mutually exclusive, they are not incompatible. In fact, they are absolutely dependent on eachother, because freedom must be protected to be sustainable, therefore the kind of life appropriate to free people is to protect and guard that freedom.
This is not just an important issue, it is THE MOST important issue, from which all other issues flow--not just for the individual, not just for the country, but for humanity as a whole.
It is especially important for Americans to understand this difference, because this is what fundamentally makes us American--the capacity to understand and apply the power necessary to keep us free.
If I could change one thing about my country, it would be to fix the proper meanings of the words Liberal and Conservative in the minds of Americans, the understanding that being BOTH is what makes America different than any other country in the world, and the destruction that follows misunderstanding the words "Liberal" and "Conservative," and the unquestioning embrace of the falsehood that they are anything but mutually dependent on eachother.
We must be protect our freedom in order to stay free.
We must enjoy the results of our freedom in order to make the risk of protection worthwhile.
Above all, we must NEVER allow these two critical foundational principle of being a true American, come into conflict with eachother. They MUST exist in a constant state of mutual reinforcement.
One without the other is slavery and death, and the only reason we see them as incompatible, is because those enslaving us have convinced us of a lie.
Liberal and Conservative are not about the eternal struggle between the Savages and the Exploiters, and to use the terms in this way is voluntarily bending the knee to our Slavers.
Let's go back to being Americans, and let's start by calling Liberal and Conservative what they actually ARE instead of what our enslavers have commanded.
Join me in changing the entire population of 400,000,000 million morons who are totally incapable of this switch back to logic and reason, and together, let's make America what it was always meant to be.
Conservative (adj.)
late 14c., conservatyf, "tending to preserve or protect, preservative, having the power to keep whole or safe," from Old French conservatif, from Medieval Latin conservativus, from Latin conservatus, past participle of conservare "to keep, preserve, keep intact, guard," from assimilated form of com-, here perhaps an intensive prefix (see com-), + servare "keep watch, maintain" (from PIE root *ser- (1) "to protect").
Liberal (adj.)
mid-14c., "generous," also "nobly born, noble, free;" from late 14c. as "selfless, magnanimous, admirable;" from early 15c. in a bad sense, "extravagant, unrestrained," from Old French liberal "befitting free people; noble, generous; willing, zealous" (12c.), and directly from Latin liberalis "noble, gracious, munificent, generous," literally "of freedom, pertaining to or befitting a free person," from liber "free, unrestricted, unimpeded; unbridled, unchecked, licentious."
Not only did the Maine Shooter Robert Card have a routine habit of cornholing other men, he was actually RECORDED doing it, and being cornholed himself by the victims he shot later.
If YOU were cornholed by another man, would YOU shoot him?
Don't answer that, I'm telling you right now that's a trick question that will get you caged.
Very little surprises me anymore, but I must say, I never in my life expected to see clusterbombs donated to thrift stores.
I'm not saying there's no market for high end military weapons and explosives among the class of society that frequents thrift stores, I'm just saying that the prices for secondhand explosives are a bit cost-prohibitive--not to mention that buying or selling bombs so lethal they've been banned by over 100 countries involves a fair amount of time in jail even for use by soldiers--let alone your average street urchin.
My question is which store department would you display clusterbombs? I'm guessing Housewares?
I haven't seen anything that violent at a welfare store since Bruce Campbell took on the zombies at Kmart!
1. Thou shalt know thine own argument and cleave fast to it, and shalt not digress nor deviate from it without the knowledge and consent of the reader, whom at all times thou shalt lead at a pace which he can follow and by a route which is made clear to him as he goeth.
2. Thou shalt respect the autonomy of the paragraph, as commanded by the authority and example of the prophet Edward Gibbon, for it is the essential unit in the chain of argument. Therefore thou shalt keep it pure and self-contained, each paragraph having within it a single central point to which all other observations in it shall be exactly subordinated by the proper use of the particles and inflections given to us for this purpose.
4. Thou shalt keep the structure of thy sentences clear, preferring short sentences to long and simple structures to complex, lest the reader lose his way in a labyrinth of subordinate clauses; and, in particular, thou shalt not enclose one relative clause in another, for this both betrays crudity of expression and is a fertile source of ambiguity.
5. Thou shalt preserve the unities of time and place, as commended by the High Priest Nicholas Boileau, placing thyself, in imagination, in one time and place, and distinguishing all others to which thou mayest refer by a proper use of tenses and other forms of speech devised for this purpose; for unless we exploit the distinction between past and pluperfect tenses, and between imperfect and future conditional, we cannot attain perfect limpidity of style and argument.
6. Thou shalt not despise the subjunctive mood, a useful, subtle and graceful mood, blessed by Erasmus and venerated by George Moore, though cursed and anathematised by the Holy Inquisition, Pravda, and the late Lord Beaverbrook.
7. Thou shalt always proceed in an orderly fashion, according to the rules of right reason; as, from the general to the particular when a generality is to be illustrated, but from the particular to the general when a generality is to be proved.
8. Thou shalt see what thou writest; and therefore thou shalt not mix thy metaphors. For a mixed metaphor is proof that the image therein contained has not been seen with the inner eye, and therefore such a metaphor is not a true metaphor, created by the active eye of imagination, but stale jargon drawn up from the stagnant sump of common-place.
9. Thou shalt also hear what thou writest, with thine inner ear, so that no outer ear may be offended by jarring syllables or unmelodious rhythm; remembering therein with piety, though not striving to imitate, the routines of Sir Thomas Browne and the clausulae of Cicero.
10. Thou shalt carefully expunge from thy writing all consciously written purple passages, lest they rise up to shame thee in thine old age.

Common language has a lot of false limitations, and really shitty ones, that need not impede thought nor communication, with a little creativity. One of the worst is with basic logic. What we call "logic gates" are absolutely applicable to everything in the world, not just computers.
Take the word "and." One could mean one thing and another, but one could just as easily mean one or the other but not both. There's no word for that, and that's bullshit. You can't just eliminate all situations in the universe that involve one or the other, but not both--just because there's no word for it. The same goes for one or the other or both, versus one or the other, but not both. No words for these and many other common logical choices we make every day.
If we had a reasonable evolution strategy for language, it would certainly feature necessity as the driver of new language, rather than fashion and authority.
Maybe on personal initiative, we should just start using logic gate terms in everyday language. Everyone reading what we right will go crosseyed and have no idea what we're talking about, but maybe that should be the direction of the flow of adaptation anyway. Maybe we SHOULD do what makes sense and just let others choose to go along with it or not, and just explain briefly when someone asks. I might try that.
I think it's worth thinking about, because it shapes our world like a motherfucker. Yep, got a word for that, don't we?
I say if the Pronoun Clowns can fuck with us about their perversions, then we definitely have the right to use language more logically, even if others have to adapt.
